So I'm hanging out in the lab with my dormmates and friends till the the theater opens so we can good seats for the hypnotist. And we are going. That  was sudden. Laters!

How things are going (for those who were "deeply" concerned)...

Sooo, classes are going rather well, naturally, I am finally out of foundations and doing work where I sometimes found myself questioning what relevance this had to my major/ minor. I actually just finished my Materials and Techniques homework for the weekend, yes I am just that nerdy. I'll post the pic sometime in the future. It is depressingly cold and rainy outside and I am finding myself getting over a particularly nasty cold. I woke up yesterday morning with a fever and felt absolutely no motivation to get to work and class. So I ditched work and proceeded to sleep till around 11 and then spent the remaining time before class started reading The Golden Compass. It is a most unusual piece of children's literature, but I likes it so far. While walking to class feeling thoroughly gross and crabby, a girl on a bike decided to cut a corner and landed directly into me. Yeah. I love how when my life isn't going so hot things that incredibly suck happen to me in large quantities. And no, she didn't apologize, just looked really guilty. I ended up leaving class early anyways, due to falling off my stool in my sick delirium.

Today I went back to Garrison, with still a tinge of a sore throat, and despite my speech to the class that I wasn't feeling well and I really wish I wouldn't have to tell someone twice to do something, they concluded to be their bratty little selves. It will be nothing short of a miracle to get most of those kids into the second grade.

One thing I reeeeeally need to do tomorrow is mail Christmas presents. That's right, some people have still not gotten them and I feel awful about it, but I swear they will be mailed!

I guess the only real thing to still do today is wash the dishes and go to sleep.

Later

Back on campus

Good times. Finally got the room straightened and have my schedule laid out. First thing at 8:00 it's Illustration and then I get a break to be able to sign up and start work again before my 2:00 class. Good times. I actually remembered to bring almost everything...except my teamaker. Which makes me very sad. I guess I'll get one of those little sieve things since all of mine is loose leafed. I also got myself an awesome book on Acrylic painting techniques from Amazon awhile back and naturally it arrives the very afternoon I've left. Lovely. There will probably be more to say after I start classes, since right now I'm kinda forcing it. Until then, ciao.

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Well I hope everyone had a happy Christmas, Asheville is indeed the beautiful city everyone has told me about. I am posting images on the mountainous regions on facebook, however my sister's internet is kinda weird so it might have to wait till I get back on campus. >_> Man, so for Christmas, how about I got LOADS of earrings. I don't think I need to worry about having them match my outfit anymore....a lot of them are made with very nice metals so hopefully I can wear them for an extended time and not have to worry about irritating them too much.

I have also officially met y sister's second cat, Deuey (short for Deuteronomy), and he is adorable. He has this weird eye thing where his eyeballs are too small for his eyelids and for those of you not up to date with your cat anatomy, cats have a third eyelid that is constantly over their eye and keeps it protected, but since Deuey's eyes are too small, the eyelid kinda folds over itself so he's partially blind and cross-eyed. Poor kitty. But he is very sweet and actually LOVES to be picked up. When he wants to be picked up, he wraps his front paws around your leg and looks at you lovingly. When you do pick him up, he then wraps hit front legs around your neck like an embrace and purrs. he is so sweeeeet! ^ v ^

I also got one of the most amazing card games ever, which I really need to play with you guys. Basically you are given a certain number of cards  that have characters and events on them and using your cards together you must create a fairytale story. The object is to get rid of all your element cards and then turn it so you can play your ending card to finish the story, if you can play your ending you've won the game, but it's more about creating a "believable" story. Colette would be awesome to play this with. It would be insanity.

Hope everyone is having a happy holiday!

The night before the drive

What ho, everyone! Tis' the the night before the very first Christmas trip I have ever taken. This week has been completely crazy, but I finally got all of the rest of Anna's stuff packed and ready to go. She seriously has waaaaaaay too much stuff. So it is one of my personal goals to make sure I seriously downsize before I officially move out of the house. It can happen. >.>
Mom has scampered off to her last holiday party before we go and I have some laundry I want to take care of so I know all my clothes are clean and ready for a REAL winter. I'm pretty psyched. While you guys bask in the eighty degree heat, I will hopefully (and finally) be getting a first time snow experience. XD Anna says it usually snows every few days, so I shall keep my fingers crossed.
It will be a nice vacation in itself to have a complete change of scenery, I am pretty sick of Bruce B. Downs by this point and a good majority of Tampa. I will leave the state when I graduate. (It rhymes...)

My sushi addiction has finally been fed

So this afternoon I met up with an old family friend and we ate some fabulous sushi. If anyone ever goes to the International Plaza, go to the outside area right near the escalators that go to the parking garage below and go to Cafe Japon. I highly recommend the Strawberry Delight roll. I also finally got sunglasses for driving and they look fabulous on me. Mom at the moment is making a pile of Christmas cards to mail out and I have the Banana Phone song stuck in my head.

My life seems to be Christmas packed

So this last Friday I went to a tree-trimming party hosted by a family friend, and actually got some great networking done. I now have something to do every Tuesday: printing books in the traditional way. That means taking each little letter, setting it in backwards and upside down, spacing correctly in between the margins, and making sure there is just enough ink on the press. Extremely tedious, but since I'm insane I enjoy it. With some time, I imagine that some pretty cool art books could come out...
Saturday morning I was up and helping local children in a not so great neighborhood's church make gingerbread houses, which was chaotic, messy, and apparently very stressful for some children. But I got some time to myself once Santa showed up and everyone cleared out to visit him and made one of my own. It's very hard to resist eating the thing. Then came finally getting a tree, putting on the lights and decorating it. It's actually one of the largest trees we've ever gotten, but that just means it's nice a fat and that there had to be some improvisation on putting the angel on the top. It's also weird when someone you have always decorated the tree with isn't there with you. We seem to still need to do some finalizing on our plans to spend Christmas with my sister. >.<
Yesterday was spent decorating my Nana's tree, since she can't do it herself and I got to handle ornaments that are approximately the age of my mother, which is a kind of eerie experience. I still need to find some nails so I can decorated the house with garlands we have. Tomorrow will be spend depositing checks, cleaning Nana's apartment, and finally getting around to baking those cookies!

PS-WHY hasn't LittleKoriboh made a new video?! and what the hell happened to Airshell?! and has anyone subbed the KKM 2nd OVA?! All questions I need to know!

PPS: I love how I can label my journal entry as explicit adult content...>D

Oh Nana....

So I am now visiting Nana everyday since she really needs help right now. I also made the discovery that she has been stocking up on five different dry catfood bags that are being gradually consumed by silverfish. I. Hate. Silverfish. They are so creepy and wriggly and....burrrrrrrrrrrr! So an hour was spent with me attacking the cupboard smooshing the little buggers and my Nana hovering around trying to salvage all the expired cat food bags. When I get old please, please, please let me not have dementia.

I'm not quite sure what brought this on, it might have been the Silverfish, but Nana is going to start paying my $100 a week! Which is fatastic since this past quarter really took a bite out of my checking account. If I wasn't working so much last quarter, there is a high possibility I might have been broke by this point. ;_;

I also get the chance to do my first serious mass printing of my books this Friday! Hooooraaaaaayyys! We'll see how I manage to market and sell them. Best luck to me!

Next week is going to be the most dreaded week of all. Christmas shopping. The malls are going to be nuts and I'm going to be trapped in the madness. I STILL haven't received a wishlist from my sister and of course my mother NEVER knows what I can get her with in my price range and I have nooo idea what to get Meghan. What do you guys want for Christmas?

And I'm back

Sooo basically the drive home consisted of me going 80 or higher. >D But, hey. Driving for six hours in the flat swamp lands is very dull so you gotta try to get off the road ASAP. I really don't want to drive again anytime soon, but unfortunetly, I discovered that the closest Office Max (the only place where my art student discount works) is in Bradenton which is approximately fifty miles away!!! Sadness. I really need to get this book printed and selling already! That and the fact that I need to set up my portfolio website and business cards. So its time to start designing logos. This week I'm going to be working on Illustrator a lot.
However, my work has been delayed due to the fact that I am writing this on my mother's computer! Blah. Our wireless isn't working and it seems it might need a new router. I wonder when we'll manage to get that...

In other news, my main objective this winter break besides getting work done is to do some serious reading. I plan to read Catcher in the Rye, all the Lemony Snicket books, and a few others some friends at school recommended. Also, tomorrow I am in serious need of a new sketchbook. So I'll be off to AOE tomorrow. Which I am looking forward to because there is nothing I love more than shopping for art supplies!

Two down one more to go!

So I'm finally practically done with final and may I say, I am ecstatic. This past weekend was straight through me working on that damn lemur coloring book. It's done, but of course there is some typos and a page where I forgot to ink in the rest of a Ringtailed Lemur's hand!!!! ##$#@%#$^%$^ Whatevs. It's turned in and my presentation for it is tomorrow, so my first graders are going to color another copy of it today! The only final I have left is a color book cover illustration for my Design for Illustration class. It seems Professor Talon in the only one who had the decency to not have the project due on Monday and I have three days to finish this sucker. (Which won't be hard at all since he is an evening class.

This winter break will hopefully not suck as much now (and practically characterized by one Gamecube game like it was last time) seeing as I have a job waiting for me with my Nana. She is in assisted living yet again due to the fact that she fell face first onto hard brick. She had a knee replacement surgery thing this past summer and needed help in her apartment, which means I was cleaning for her and what not. So I'm doing it again now that she has broken her arm (but surprisingly not her hip) and knocked out her front teeth. Poor Nana. I need to make her a get well soon card. Though it is to say there is a brighter side to this, it means mom won't be sending me to every God awful mall in the area for a winter job. I hate filling out all that shit that I know they are never going to read.

My other main goal is to sell that coloring book like hot cakes. I have to tweak the things I screwed up on it first, but when it's done and ready for printing, I'm going to sell it like nobody's business. Hopefully. Here are some screen shots to temp you possible buyers. : )

The Aye aye page is here tooCollapse )
